William Penn University Announces Theme for 2015 Navy & Gold Gala
In July, the William Penn Athletic Booster Club, in partnership with the Advancement Office, hosted their third annual fundraiser at the Penn Central Mall. With over 250 people in attendance and hundreds of donated items, the 2014 Navy and Gold Gala raised over $24,000 in ticket sales, raffle drawings, as well as live and silent auctions—an $8,000 increase from the previous year’s event. The total was enough to purchase a new passenger van for the university’s travel needs.
Formerly known as the Duck Plucker’s Ball, the 2014 fundraiser was reimagined as the Navy and Gold Gala to reach a broader audience, and each year the event will feature a new theme. This past summer, guests were welcomed to the “Wild, Wild West” with themed contests, menu, games, and decorations. Next year’s Navy and Gold Gala will take guests back to the age of opulence, Jazz, prohibition, glitz, and glamour with “The Roaring 20’s”. So grab your fedoras and feathers, and mark your calendars for Saturday, July 25, 2015. You won’t want to miss this event! If you would like to be a corporate sponsor or table host for the 2015 Navy and Gold Gala, contact the Advancement Office at 641-673-1044.
