William Penn Returns to Receiving Votes Group

Oskaloosa–The Statesmen men’s soccer team enters league play as a team back on the radar as the NAIA released its second top-25 poll of the season Wednesday.

WPU (3-1) is unofficially 30th with 26 points. The navy and gold received votes to open the season, but dropped out of last week’s poll.

William Penn is one of six programs from the Heart of America Athletic Conference in the rating. Central Methodist is #1, while #6 Missouri Valley and #8 MidAmerica Nazarene join the Eagles in the top 10. Grand View and Baker are with the Statesmen in the receiving votes section.

CMU owns 15 first-place votes, while #2 Mobile (Ala.) has the final three ballots. Columbia (Mo.), Mid-America Christian (Okla.), and St. Thomas (Fla.) round out the top five.

William Penn opens Heart play Wednesday in Lamoni against Graceland at 7:30 p.m.
