William Baysinger, 74, of Oskaloosa passed away Tuesday morning, November 26, 2013, at the MHP Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa.

William Henry Baysinger, son of Isaac Henry and Edith Elsie (Knight) Baysinger, was born July 11, 1939, in Des Moines, Iowa. The family moved to Oskaloosa when he was a boy and Bill attended Oskaloosa Schools. He began working at Oskaloosa Food Products in the 1960’s and worked there until his retirement in 1997. Bill was an avid fisherman his whole life and nieces and nephews remember many fun adventures with him. In his retirement Bill enjoyed woodworking and raising ducks, many will remember them waddling about on rainy days on K Ave. East. Bill was a compassionate man and cared very much for his family, friends and his animal friends.

His family includes his sisters, Betty Swanson of Mount Vernon, WA, Iva Corpier of Des Moines, IA and Delores Taylor of Knoxville, IA; his sister-in-law, Bobbi Martin of Pella, IA; nieces: Linda Miller of Oskaloosa, Debbie Darner of New Port Richey, FL and Karen Ridlen of Port Richey, FL; and nephews: Rick Peek of Burlington, IA and Eric Martin of Pella, IA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his long-time companion, Thelma Baysinger and brothers: Charles Clark, Harold Martin and Loren and Donald Baysinger and his sisters: Doris, Enid and Maxine.

As was his wish, Bill’s body has been cremated and a private burial of his ashes will be held at Ollie Cemetery at a later date. Garland-Van Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel is entrusted with the arrangements.
