Wesley died Wednesday at his home in Oskaloosa.

Wesley Chrisman, son of Charles and Frances Libbey Chrisman, was born May 8, 1936 in St. Joseph, MO. The family moved to Ottumwa, IA when Wesley was a young man and following his education he worked as a farm hand and an auto mechanic. He married Helen Maxine Coyne in 1958. They made their home in Ottumwa. Wes and Maxine later divorced and Wes moved to Cedar Rapids where he worked as a bartender. He later moved to Columbia, MO and worked as a farm hand. Wes moved to Oskaloosa in 1990 to be near his family. He enjoyed fishing, working on cars and spending time with his grandchildren.

His family includes his children: Wanda and Dennie Johnson of Oskaloosa, Sandra and Burt Glasgow of Oskaloosa; Chrissy Chrisman of Ottumwa and David Wayne Chrisman of Fort Dodge, IA; nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; and sisters: Mary Schirmer of Cedar Rapids and Dorothy (Russell) Dorman of Columbia, MO.

Besides his parents, Wesley was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Aubrey; a brother, Frank and a sister, Norma.

As was his wish, his body had been cremated and private family memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family.
