Wanda Reed, 90 of Newton and formerly of New Sharon, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday evening, February 17, 2019 at the Newton Health Care Center. Wanda Fay Reed, the daughter of Elijah Martin and Ida Mae (Ward) Wright, was born on May 23, 1928 in Tribbey, Oklahoma.

Wanda attended school in Tribbey, Oklahoma.

Wanda married Junior Keith Reed on October 27, 1945 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. To this union six children were born, Larry, Dennis, Kathy, Diane, Jan and Dave.

Following the war, Keith and Wanda moved to New Sharon to be closer to Keith’s family. Wanda was a homemaker and was extremely busy raising her six children.

Wanda loved the Lord and attended the New Sharon Assembly of God Church for many years while living in New Sharon. She was an avid reader, an excellent cook, and enjoyed puzzle books and coloring books. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Her legacy will be honored by her children: Larry (& Patricia) Reed of Centerville, Dennis (& Sandra) Reed of Slidell, LA, Kathleen (& Wiley) Van Ommen of Searsboro, Janet (& Scott) Lynam of Newton and Dave Reed of Kellogg; 15 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; and many other nieces, nephews and friends.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Keith Reed; a daughter, Diane Reed; a great grandson, Will Marcum; a son-in-law, Ken Hugen; six sisters; and five brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, February 22, 2019 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in New Sharon.
Burial will be held in the Highland Cemetery in New Sharon.
Visitation will be held one hour before the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hope Ministries.
