Victor “Vic” Raffety
Victor “Vic” Raffety, 79, of Oskaloosa, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. He was born June 20, 1945, to Paul and Bea (Broerman) Raffety. He graduated from Oskaloosa High School in 1964. Following school, Vic worked at Pepsi in Oskaloosa, and then went to Pella and worked at Vermeer.
He was an avid lover of the Iowa Hawkeyes. He enjoyed attending football games at Kinnick in Iowa City. In his spare time, he helped drive veterans to the VA hospital in Iowa City. This was true to the person he was. He was kind, friendly, and loved everyone he met.
He is survived by his two sisters; Sheila Alstrin of Summerville, FL, and Penny Raffety of Henderson, CO, 2 nephews; a niece; 2 grandnephews, and a grandniece, and many friends.
Victor was preceded in death by his parents.
As was his wish, Victors body will be cremated. A Celebration of life will be held at a later date, details are still pending. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation can be made to Victor’s family.
