This home located at 510 North C in Oskaloosa was heavily damaged in an overnight fire.

Oskaloosa, Iowa – Fire crews were dispatched to a home located at 516 North C in Oskaloosa, at 11:08pm Wednesday night.

Oskaloosa Fire Department arrived on the scene to a structure that was heavily involved with fire, with the most visible flames coming from the north and east side of the structure.

According to Oskaloosa Fire Chief Mark Neff, no one was injured by the flames, but the heat from the fire and the weather caused at least two firefighters to be checked out with the paramedics on the scene.

No one was in the house at the time emergency services responded.

Fifteen firefighters responded to the all-in call, and were on the scene until after 1:30am Thursday.

This neighborhood is no stranger to structure fires. During the first part of April, a large two-story apartment building, which was also vacant, burned down. It was only two lots to the north of this fire.

Oskaloosa Fire was assisted at the scene by the Oskaloosa Police Department and Mahaska Health Partnership Emergency Services and Mahaska County 911 Dispatchers.
