UPDATE: TROOPERS BATTLE POOR ROAD CONDITIONS TO RESCUE MOTORISTS, CLEAN UP CRASHES

Des Moines, IOWA — Travel is currently not advised in many parts of the state. However some motorists continue to trek across our interstates and highways. That means Troopers for the Iowa State Patrol must remain vigilant as they work the road, investigating crashes and assisting stranded motorists. In addition, calls to the Patrol’s six communications centers are streaming in, keeping dispatch workers very busy.

State Patrol Officials remind motorists that over the next 48 hours, snow will continue to accumulate and wind speeds will increase. These conditions are negatively affecting road conditions and visibility, particularly in the south and southeastern portions of the state.
