Oskaloosa–Three Statesmen football players were honored for their excellence in the classroom as they were named 2013 Daktronics-NAIA Football Scholar-Athletes.

Brock Peery (Sr., Payson, Utah, Secondary Education), Evan Ressler (Jr., Cascade, Iowa, Biology), and Justin Lewis (Jr., Florence, Ala., Sociology) were among a list of 259 football players from within the NAIA ranks to be awarded the laurel.

Peery led the trio with a 3.77 Grade Point Average entering last fall, while Ressler was next at 3.75. The accolade is the second for Peery. Lewis entered the fall with a 3.65 GPA.

To be eligible for the award, athletes must be of at least junior academic standing, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale, and have attended the nominating institution for at least one full academic year.
