Three Garner All-Heart Honors, Foster Named Co-Coach of the Year

Oskaloosa–The Statesmen men’s bowling team was represented well as the all-Heart of America Athletic Conference teams were announced last weekend.

Bryce Keykal (Jr., Princeton, Minn., Education) and Aidan Piet (Fr., Meridian, Idaho, Business Management) were both named to the league’s five-person first team, while Conor Fetherston (So., Dublin, Ireland, Software Engineering) was selected to the five-person second squad.

Fetherston is now a two-time award recipient (first team last year), while Keykal and Piet are both first-time winners.

The trio’s head coach, Cameron Foster, was also acknowledged as he was chosen as Co-Coach of the Year, sharing the honor with Culver-Stockton’s Derek Sapp. Foster has now won the COY award all three years he has been at William Penn.

WPU, which placed second at the Heart Championship last Saturday and Sunday, recorded six top-10 performances this year, including winning the NAIA Weekend #1 earlier this month.

Keykal is currently topping the navy and gold with a 196.1 average in 52 games (high of 268). He has twice been in the top 10 and was also once in the top 25.

Piet’s average of 194.6 pins (39 games) comes with a high game of 263. The freshman has one top-10 effort to his credit.

Fetherston is averaging 189.3 pins over the span of 51 games with a season-best game of 266.

Eric Moore of Central Methodist was named both Heart Player and Newcomer of the Year.
