1904: Unseasonably warm weather surged into Iowa ahead of an approaching cold front, bringing into the 50s and 60s across much of the state. Several stations, including Burlington and Dubuque, established daily records that have not since been tied or broken in more than a century. The highest temperatures were reported in southeastern Iowa including highs of 64 F at Fairfield, 65 F at Burlington and Keokuk, 66 F at Ottumwa, 67 F at Keokuk, and 70 F at Keosauqua.
