Oskaloosa RAGBRAI Theme 2013

Oskaloosa RAGBRAI Theme 2013

Oskaloosa, Iowa – Answering questions the public may have about the upcoming RAGBRAI visit to Oskaloosa was the purpose of a town-hall style meeting Thursday night at Smokey Row. Lots of questions, and even more planning and hard work, will happen before any rider makes their way into town on July 25, 2013.

The purpose was to outline where camping and downtown entertainment would be located in the city.

Riders entering Oskaloosa will first enter Beacon, riding along Indian Way, which changes into 11th Ave. West, where they will turn North on H Street. Once they are on H Street, they ride up to M Avenue West, turn left, and finish their trek to the Lacey Complex.

When they exit Oskaloosa, they will travel back across M Ave. and down H Street south to 11th Ave. West. After turning left on 11th Ave., they will then turn south on Market and then east on 15th Ave East on their way to 17th Ave East. The riders will then arrive at Highway 23, turning south on their way to Fremont.

The main campground for RAGBRAI’s visit will be at the Lacey Complex and the Oskaloosa Elementary School area. In conjunction with the Lacey/Elementary camping, the Southern Iowa Fairgrounds will serve as first choice for RV camping.

Other places that will be utilized include the old Community Stadium, William Penn University Campus, the former Vennard College Campus, High School and Middle School campus, along with the Nazarene Church campus.

Oskaloosa also got their first look at the theme. The theme is “Ride Hard – Dance Harder” and features a play off of the official RAGBRAI logo of a pig.

T-Shirts are now available with the logo, and “Note the Difference” on the back. You can order yours from the following link HERE – http://www.oskyragbrai.com/wp-content/uploads/T-Shirt-order-form-RAGBRAI.pdf
