Swim’s Sports and Awards is back open in Oskaloosa

In May of 2015 a decade’s long business in Oskaloosa was decimated by a fire. Doug Swim had lost his business of over 30 years to the fire. While there has been some disappointing news about business closings in Oskaloosa recently we are happy to announce Swim’s Sports and Awards is open once again at 118 A. Ave East to service Oskaloosa and the surrounding areas.

Swim’s new store does not have the space of the old store so there will not be as much inventory as there was in the old store. This is where some changes will be taking place in the future.

Doug DeKock, a longtime Oskaloosa resident will become a partner in Swim’s this fall. It is the vision of the “new” Swim’s to develop a web page where customers and schools will be able to order from. Swims will still stock some items that people can stop in and purchase.Doug Swim has a pretty good idea after 35 years in the business what people may need to get in a hurry or pick up for their teams. Swim’s will have all the companies as before to order from and the hope is to add a few more. Online shopping is large part of everyone’s shopping experience in today’s world. Doug Swim has been busy with screen printing and awards since moving in January.

Doug DeKock will be assisting in the store and also calling on local schools and businesses to hopefully help them out on whatever needs they may have in sporting goods, awards, uniforms or screen printing. We are looking forward to this new era of Swim’s Sports. Doug Swim is the most customer friendly owner I know. I am excited to learn the business and help move it forward with Doug Swim’s assistance and expertise along with getting back into sales which is something I love to do!

We love Oskaloosa and are thrilled to be back in business. Our goal is to take care of Oskaloosa and the surrounding schools and businesses the best that we can.

Thank You,
Doug DeKock
