Oskaloosa Girls Golf Shows Resilience at Pella Conference Tournament

Yesterday, the Oskaloosa girls golf team took to the greens at the scenic Pella Golf and Country Club, displaying their skills in their conference tournament. Coach Cory Sheeley noted the team’s strong start, with an impressive score of 211 on the first nine holes. However, the team faced challenges on the back nine, finishing with a 241, totaling 452 for the tournament.

Despite the less-than-ideal final score, Coach Sheeley emphasized the positives. “Each girl had one good nine holes… we are making progress,” he commented. The team’s focus has been on improving their short game, a strategy they plan to continue refining.

Leadership on the course came from Rian Allman, who posted a team-best score of 108, closely followed by Gracie DeRonde with a 110.

Looking ahead, the Oskaloosa girls are set to compete again this Friday.
