Mahaska County Conservation Board

Environmental Learning Center, Caldwell Park

Wednesday, March 27, 2019

11:00 am – 12:30 pm

The OWLS – Older, Wiser, Learning Seniors, is a new “lunch and learn” group program with the Mahaska County Conservation Board and is designed for adults and senior learners with an interest in nature, environmental science and conservation topics. Programs are presented monthly by the MCCB Naturalist and guest speakers. The programs will be held at the Environmental Learning Center which is located at Caldwell Park on the east side of Oskaloosa. The address is 2342 Hwy. 92 East, Oskaloosa.

Come out to the Environmental Learning Center on Wednesday, March 27 from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm for a lunch and learn about making maple syrup. Laura DeCook, the Mahaska County naturalist will be presenting. Making homemade maple syrup is a fun, historical tradition. Join us for an overview of how to tap trees and make maple syrup. Bring your lunch, but save room for some maple syrup on ice cream! Coffee and lemonade will be provided.

We will meet downstairs, so you can park in the south parking lot.

Registration is not required, but appreciated. If you have questions, call Laura DeCook at (641)673-9327 ext. 2. Hope to see you there – bring a friend!
