Sweet Corn Serenade

Oskaloosa Iowa Sweet Corn Serenade

Residents enjoying a wonderful Oskaloosa Iowa afternoon.

What looks to be a solid turnout, Oskaloosa’s Sweet Corn Serenade had many folks from all around enjoying that wonderful taste of summer. At only 25¢ an ear, one could eat some of the best of the season until they were full or tired of it. With many games and activities for the kids and whole family, this appears to be a solid activity put on by the Chamber.

When asked if she enjoyed the festival, a local girl Candace Allsup had this to say about it. “I loved looking at all the different things, and the sweet corn was yummy!”

By 7 p.m. they were making more pork burgers, and by the end of the evening, all food had been eaten and enjoyed. Thanks to all the volunteers and others that worked hard to make it a success.

Of course with this being an election year, the normal “parade” of candidates were out to meet and greet those in attendance. Charities like Share Iowa were on hand to help let others know of their availability.

Mark your calendars for next years event, and great work Chamber on this outstanding event.
