Students Head Back To School
Oskaloosa, Iowa – Students from across the area are headed back to school. North Mahaska and Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont headed back to school on August 23rd. They were joined back in the classroom by the students of Oskaloosa Christian School.
Oskaloosa Community School and William Penn University students start classes on Monday, August 25th.
The Oskaloosa Middle School held its open house on August 20th. The Oskaloosa Elementary opened their doors to students on August 22nd, where parents got the opportunity to meet the teachers and learn about new things happening in the building.
The Oskaloosa Elementary welcomed a new principal this year, Mrs. McGlothen or otherwise known as Mrs. Mac.
She was at the doors welcoming students and parents and taking the opportunity to meet several of them.
Mrs. Mac and Mr. Dursky will be available to help answer any questions parents may have this year.
There are approximately 975 students enrolled in elementary school this year.
Oskaloosa’s Elementary School is one of the largest in the state of Iowa, and Mrs. Mac says that the building is very well laid out and well organized. “So that’s definitely helpful.”
She’s not intimidated by the size of the school, as she comes to Oskaloosa after being a part of another school that had approximately 800 students.
“I’m just excited to be starting in this new position,” said Mrs. Mac as students from all grade levels continued to file in the doors.
