Statesmen Take Loss on Road Against Baker

Oskaloosa—The Statesmen played their second night of back-to-back Heart of America Athletic Conference showdowns on Saturday, down in Baldwin City, Kan. To take on the Baker Wildcats.

Unfortunately, William Penn came out up short as they were swept by the Wildcats by the scores of 25-12, 25-20, and 25-20.

WPU was outhit by a wide margin .395-.146 in the loss.

Alicia Jaquez (Jr., Farmington, N.M., Biology) finished with 10 kills for the visitors and added five digs on defense.

Annalise Whitcomb (Jr., Humboldt, Kan.) and Macy Bailey (Fr., Bondurant, Iowa, Business Management) combined for 34 assists, posting 19 and 15 respectively.

Defensively, Cameryn Campbell (Jr., Jefferson City, Mo., Education) was the only Statesmen with double-digit digs, logging 10.

Next up: William Penn will conclude its three game road stretch with a match against Peru State in Peru, Neb., on Tuesday, September 17, at 7 pm.
