Statesmen Tabbed as Favorites in MCC Coaches Poll
Oskaloosa–Following a strong ending to last year’s campaign, the William Penn men’s bowling team is expected to once again fight for national supremacy as the Midwest Collegiate Conference coaches’ poll was released last Friday.
The Statesmen finished just three wins shy of bringing home the national title at the xbowling USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships. With their entire varsity lineup back on the lanes, including All-American Cameron Foster (Sr., West Jordan, Utah, Business Management), they are picked to lead the MCC with 42 points and four first-place votes.
Clarke, with 35 points and two first-place votes, is tied with Mount Mercy for second. St. Ambrose is fourth with 34 points and the final first-place vote. Grand View (26), Viterbo (16), and AIB (8) round out the poll.
William Penn continues its season this weekend by traveling to Davenport and Moline, Ill. on November 9-10 to compete in the ISYL Leatherneck Classic.
