Statesmen of the Week: Kameron Cummings and Alix Robinson
Oskaloosa–Football player Kameron Cummings (Jr., Houston, Texas, Business Management) and women’s volleyball player Alix Robinson (So., Pontiac, Ill., Political Science and History) have been named the Statesmen of the Week for the week of August 31-September 6.
Cummings was a major factor in William Penn holding off Missouri Valley 14-13 last Saturday. The junior tallied four tackles (three solos, one for a loss of two yards), while also forcing one fumble in the third quarter. He sealed the victory by recovering a fumble in the final minutes of the contest.
The Statesmen defense was backed into its own redzone on four occasions, but limited the Vikings to just 13 points, including six on their first three trips.
Robinson helped the Statesmen to a 4-1 record last week. The sophomore managed 50 kills (2.78 per set) on a .131 attack percentage. She also tallied 39 digs (2.17 per set) in addition to four aces, three assists, and two blocks.
She twice tallied double-digit kills and twice posted double-doubles. Her best performance came in a reverse sweep against Waldorf Saturday, recording highs in kills (16) and digs (19). Robinson produced a double-double of 10 kills and 11 digs versus Mount Marty Friday as well.
