Oskaloosa– Last weekend’s loss was painful in many ways for the William men’s basketball team, including on its rating, as the fourth regular season NAIA Division II poll was released Tuesday.

The Statesmen (10-6, 0-1 MCC), who fell to now #23 St. Ambrose last Saturday, fell six positions and is now unofficially tied with Briar Cliff for 35th with three points.

Embry-Riddle (Fla.), the only squad in NAIA Division II with one loss (16-1), is still first with 371 points and ten first-place votes. Cardinal Stritch (Wis.) is second with two first-place votes, while Indiana-Southeast is third with the final two first-place votes. Saint Xavier (Ill.) and Dordt round out the top five.

Clarke, at #34, also represents the Midwest Collegiate Conference in the rating.
