Oskaloosa–Three consecutive tournament wins launched William Penn women’s golf team into a much loftier national position as the NAIA’s sixth and final top-25 poll was released Thursday.

WPU improved six slots from last month’s rating to #16 with 242 points. The Statesmen are the Heart of America Athletic Conference’s lone representatives. Morningside (#33) and Briar Cliff (#34) also represent the state of Iowa in the poll.

SCAD Savannah (Ga.) continues to be #1 with 498 points and all 18 first-place votes. The rest of the top five is also unchanged with Dalton State (Ga.), British Columbia, USC Beaufort, and William Woods (Mo.) rounding out the top five.

William Penn will face the nation’s best in two weeks as it competes in the NAIA National Championships at PGA National Golf Course in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. from May 22-25.
