State Patrolman hits deer in Monroe County

Iowa State Patrol Squad Car

A January 5th, 6:55 am accident involving a deer and an Iowa State Patrol cruiser happened in Monroe County.

Iowa State Patrolman Clayton Daniel was on a normal patrol going North on Highway 5 in Monroe County in the State’s 2009 Ford Crown Victoria,  when a deer come out of the West ditch into the path of Daniels.

Trooper Weidman arrived on the scene at 7:04 to investigate the accident scene.
