Snowmobile Accident Claims The Life Of A Mahaska County Man

Oskaloosa, Iowa – On Saturday evening, at 4:19 pm, the call for help went out. Ambulance crews, Mahaska County Sheriffs Office and the Oskaloosa Fire Department all responded to 1875 Highway 92, west of Oskaloosa.
Mahaska County Sheriffs office says that Steve Van Maanen, 46, was riding a snowmobile on private property when the accident happened. As a result of the accident, Van Maanen passed away from his injuries.
The accident remains under investigation.
