Sew Good 4-Hers

Mahaska County 4-H and Clover Kid members came decked out in their best for the annual Clothing Selection, $15 Challenge, and Fashion Revue Contests. This event is judged prior to the Southern Iowa Fair and is held each year for 4-H and Clover Kid members. Each event holds a different purpose, but in each event members come looking their very best to interview with specialized judges. For Clothing Selection, the 4-Her chooses an outfit to develop skills in buying clothes for a particular purpose. In the $15 Challenge, 4-H members purchase an outfit for under $15 from a consignment shop, garage sale, Salvation Army or similar shop. Lastly, Fashion Revue participants construct their very own outfit.
