Wesley Vernie Jordan, the son of William Ferris Jordan and Ola (Brader) Jordan, was born on May 6, 1918.

Seaman First Class (S1c) Wesley Jordan enlisted in the U.S. Navy on May 4, 1938, where he lost his life on December 7, 1941 at the age of 23 on the Battleship USS Oklahoma in the Japanese invasion of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. After nearly seventy-seven years he will be brought back home to his final resting place.

Graveside burial with full military rites will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, May 24, 2019 at the Barnes City Cemetery in Barnes City. A procession lead by the United States Patriot Guard will form at 12:30 pm at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma to go to the cemetery.

Survivors include one niece, Sharon Renfrow of Altoona; four great nieces: Theresa Lewis of Des Moines, Wendy (& Brad) Vetting of Maryland, Christy (& Jeremy) Clark of Des Moines and Melaunie Taylor of Ellsworth.

Members of the Jordan family that have passed away are: his parents; his sister, Doris Craig; and his nephew, Terry Craig.
