Iowa – The IHSAA recently announced the 2019 class of Iowa Football Hall of Fame inductees.

On November 22nd, 2019, during the Class 4A championship game at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls, Oskaloosa’s own Tyler Sash will be inducted.

“Sash was a two-time all-state selection at Oskaloosa before eventually continuing his football career at the University of Iowa and winning a Super Bowl in the NFL with the New York Giants. In his senior season, Sash scored touchdowns passing, rushing, receiving, and via kickoff return and punt return, and was responsible for nearly 60 percent of his team’s total offense, including 1,173 yards and 20 touchdowns rushing in nine games, stated IHSAA in a press release.

Sash, 27, passed away in September of 2015 as a result of one of the worst cases of CTE documented in a professional football player.

Sash was known for his generosity and acts of kindness to the youth of Oskaloosa and the surrounding area.
