Salvation Army Of Mahaska County Gets New Leadership

Oskaloosa, Iowa – The Mahaska County Salvation Army announced that Deb Philpot is the Executive Director For South Central Iowa Center for Independent Living and new chairperson for Mahaska County Salvation Army.

The charity will have a presence at the South Central Iowa Center for Independent Living located at 109 North 3rd Street in Oskaloosa.

Philpot says that having the Salvation Army located with them, it enhances their services because “we help people stay independent, and this is one step to that.”

The Mahaska County Salvation Army thanked Jerry Morrison for his many years of service as chairperson and thanked him for his many years of service.

The Mahaska County Salvation Army will be providing the same services to those in need that it has. “We’re going strictly by the book,” said Philpot of the services they are allowed to expend money on.

Philpot says that previous phone numbers to the local Salvation Army no longer work. “There’s no emergency phone any longer,” said Philpot. You can contact the Mahaska County Salvation Army Monday through Friday 9 am to 4 pm at the listed address or by phone at 641.672.1867.
