Oskaloosa – July 27, 2012

Brooke Beers spent her junior year in Belgium through the Rotary Youth exchange. She returned to Oskaloosa just in time for the fair. “What a culture shock…coming from Europe to the fair in Oskaloosa,” said Brooke during a recent presentation to the Oskaloosa Rotary Club about her experiences. Beers spent time with three families in the French-speaking part of Belgium attending a Catholic school and experiencing the culture. She was able to tour much of Belgium and visit several other countries.

The Oskaloosa Rotary Club facilitates hosting a student in our community as well as sending a student to another country through the Rotary Youth Exchange. For more information about the Rotary Youth Exchange, contact Rotary Member Bob Elgin.
