Roger Lynn Molenburg, 44, of Oskaloosa died Monday, January 27, 2014 at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Roger was born Friday, March 28, 1969 in Iowa City, Iowa. He attended school in Oskaloosa.

Following school, Roger worked various jobs including landscaping and hanging dry wall. He later moved to Missouri where he owned and operated his own business cleaning and refinishing floors. He worked as a mechanic for 20 years until going to work construction until he was injured. Following his injury, Roger moved back to Oskaloosa and worked various places over the last few years.

Roger was married to Jolynn Shaw and to this union two children were born, they later divorced. He was later married to Judy Willheight and they later divorced. Lastly he was married to Koran “Kitty” Garr and they later divorced.

Roger was a member of the Eagles while living in Missouri. He loved to build model cars, and going to demo derby’s. He loved spending time with his family and his friends.

Roger will forever be remembered for his love for children and their love for him.

Roger’s family includes his mother: Mary Whitsel of Oskaloosa; 9 siblings: Shelly, Lynn Ann, Ronnie Jr., Brent, Terry, Nick, Scott, Lance and Shelly; a very special friend: Jenny Foster of Des Moines; two daughters: Caylnn Farris and Emily Comstock of Oskaloosa; three grandsons: Gyden and Wyatt Walker and Kessler Molenburg; 7 step children: Tanya Wilhite, Brandon Wilhite, Kaela Garr, Kyler and Kylena Salazar, and Kadence and Kalisa Garr; two step grandchildren; an uncle: Gene Whitsel of Eddyville; an aunt: Martha (& Mike) of Eddyville; and several nieces and nephews.

Roger was preceded in death by his father: Robert Molenburg, Sr.; a daughter: Echo (Ekatrina) Molenburg; a son: Buzz (Atrayel) Molenburg; two brothers: Bobby Molenburg and Ray Jr.; and a niece Calayna Molenburg.

A visitation will be held at the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa from 4:30 – 6 P.M. Thursday, January 30, 2014 with his family present to greet friends and relatives.
Following visitation, Roger’s body will be cremated and no other services are planned at this time.
Memorials may be made to the Roger Molenburg Memorial Fund.
