Rodney Seaton, 51, of What Cheer, died Sunday, March 3, 2019 at the Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines. Rodney Lee Seaton was born October 19, 1967, the son of Charlie and Rosellen Matson Seaton.

Rod attended Tri-County High School.

Rod began working road construction at an early age. He worked several years for his brother at Mark Seaton Construction. In 2010, he began Rod Seaton Custom Earth Work.

Rod married Lori Bingaman on September 10, 1990 in Oskaloosa, Iowa. To this union were three daughters, Logan, McKenzie, and Taylor.

Rod enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working for his mother on the family farm. Above all, his pride and joy were his three daughters. Rod was notorious for taking them anywhere and everywhere he went, from deer hunting to a long day at the job site.

Rod is survived by his fiancé, Jessica Ahrens; his three daughters: Logan Seaton, McKenzie (& Jordan) Bahl and Taylor Seaton; five brothers: Mike Seaton, Mark (& Sheri) Seaton, Eric (& Barb) Seaton, Pat (& Becky) Seaton, and Chris (& Amber) Seaton. Rod also leaves behind his favorite grandson, Phoenix Jordan.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of life will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in What Cheer.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.

A benefit dinner and auction will be held for Rod on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at the Deep River Community Center from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
