Rickey Kridelbaugh

Rickey passed away quietly at his home surrounded by his family Wednesday evening. As was his wish, his body has been cremated. Burial of his cremated remains will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Pershing, IA. No services are planned at present.

Rickey Dee Kridelbaugh, son of Vern Leo and Alice Mae Johnston Kridelbaugh, was born August 21, 1941 in Ottumwa, Iowa. Rickey was raised in Ottumwa where he attended school. Throughout his life he lived in Pershing, Harvey and Pella; he moved to his current home in 2008. Rickey worked as a machinist at Vermeer Manufacturing for 36 years. Over that time he was the recipient of many awards. He retired in 2009. Rickey was a hard working and generous man, he was always willing to help relatives, friends and neighbors.

Rickey’s family includes three sons: Ricky Kridelbaugh of Las Vegas, NV; Shannon Kridelbaugh of Leighton, IA; and Shane Kridelbaugh of Oskaloosa, IA; three daughters: Mary Alice Bermal of Jackson, NE; Treva Eileen Sizemore of Cabool, MO; and Echo Kridelbaugh of Oskaloosa, IA; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a brother, Leon and his wife, Rosemary Kridelbaugh of Rolla, MO.

Besides his parents, Rickey was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Kridelbaugh and a sister, Treva Blevins.
