Representative Holly Brink Will Not Seek Re-Election in 2022

(Oskaloosa, Iowa) – Today, Representative Holly Brink (R-Oskaloosa) announced her decision not to seek re-election to the Iowa House in 2022. Brink is the current representative of House District 80 and under the recently confirmed redistricting maps now resides in House District 88.

“It’s been an honor to represent the constituents of House District 80 in the Iowa House of Representatives,” said Brink. “After giving it a lot of thought, I have decided not to seek re-election in 2022 and devote more of my time to my three kids. I will continue to stay involved and advocate for policies that give parents a greater voice, and move Iowa in the right direction making Iowa the best place to live, work and raise a family.”

In the Iowa House, Brink chairs the Government Oversight committee. Additionally, she serves on the Appropriations, IT, Economic Growth, and Education committees.

House District 80 includes all of Monroe and Appanoose counties, as well as a western portion of Wapello county and eastern portion of Mahaska county. Under the new redistricting maps, Brink lives in the new House District 88, which contains all of Keokuk county and portions of Mahaska and Jefferson county.

Representative Dustin Hite (R-New Sharon) also resides in the new House District 88. Hite announced his decision to run for re-election on December 10. Brink said Hite has her full support.

“I am looking forward to throwing my complete support behind Representative Dustin Hite during this next campaign cycle,” said Brink. “Hite and I have worked on several important pieces of legislation that were brought out of our combined efforts in Government Oversight and Education. He is a very talented legislator and that will serve the district extremely well. I will be honored to call him my representative.”

Brink will serve out the remainder of her term through 2022.
