Reisbeck Named Honorable Mention, Wins Gold Glove at Third Base

Oskaloosa–Seth Reisbeck (Jr., Meridian, Idaho, History/Government) was recognized for a strong season on the diamond as the 2018 all-Heart of America Athletic Conference baseball teams were announced Wednesday.

Reisbeck collected his first accolade at William Penn, being named to the honorable-mention squad. A total of 21 individuals garnered honorable mentions, while 17 players were chosen for both the league’s first and second teams.

The junior was also named to the Heart Rawlings Gold Glove team for his efforts in the field.

Reisbeck hit a team-best .358 (54-for-151) during a season in which WPU finished 15-30 (8-22 Heart). He posted five doubles, two triples, drove in 23 runs, and scored 16 times. The junior managed a .417 slugging percentage and had a .390 on-base percentage by also walking eight times and being hit by pitch twice.

Reisbeck tallied three separate seven-game hitting streaks.

The third baseman was exceptional at the ‘hot corner’, recording 28 putouts and 68 assists with just seven errors in 103 chances for a fielding percentage of .932. He was also a part of eight double plays turned by the Statesmen.

Central Methodist swept the Heart’s top honors as Randy Perez was named Player of the Year, Kyle Fulton was named Pitcher of the Year, and Nate Breland collected Coach of the Year laurels.
