Raymond E. Stout, 66, of Oskaloosa died Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at the MHP Hospital in Oskaloosa. He was born November 22, 1947, at Oskaloosa, the son of Raymond and Mary Jane Fox Stout.

Raymie attended school at Oskaloosa. Following school he served in the United States Army. Upon his discharge from the Army he settled in Oskaloosa.

On July 27, 1969, Raymie was united in marriage to Nona M. Sharp at New Sharon. Nona died July 3, 2005.

Raymie was a self-employed painter. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping. He was a member of the V.F.W.

His family includes his two children and their spouses: Travis and Jennifer Stout of Eddyville and Trisha and Chad McCartie of Beacon; six grandchildren: Sierra, Autumn and Karic Stout and Austin, Logan and Jenna McCartie; two sisters and their husbands: Connie and Gary Moore of Oskaloosa and Georgette and Lee Alexander of Wright; two brothers and their wives: Mike & Mary Stout and Larry & Gloria Stout all of Oskaloosa; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Chris Stout.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 20, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with Pastor Alvern Boetsma officiating.
Military Rites will be given by members of the Oskaloosa American Legion and V.F.W. Burial will be in the Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held Friday morning from 9 a.m. until service time at 10:30 on Friday.
Memorials may be made to the Oskaloosa Honor Guard.
