Oskaloosa–Derek Robinson (So., Jenks, Okla., Communications) not only punched his ticket for nationals, but he was also named Heart of America Athletic Conference Men’s Field Athlete of the Week Monday.

Robinson won his first weekly award by hitting the automatic-qualifying standard in the discus at the Dubuque Invitational. The sophomore, a first-time qualifier, tossed the implement a distance of 158-5 to claim the event. He is WPU’s seventh qualifier in five events.

Robinson ranks fourth in the Heart and 18th in the NAIA in the discus. He is also seventh in the shot put (46-3.25) and 12th in the hammer (140-2) within the conference ranks.

WPU has now won 12 weekly awards, including eight on the men’s side.
