Planning And Zoning Recommends Rezoning For A Ave Business
Oskaloosa, Iowa – The Planning and Zoning Commission met Monday afternoon to discuss a couple of topics, the first being a rezone of a lot along A Ave and the other dealing with real estate signs.
The lot, located at 214 Highway 432 south of H&S Feed and east of Modern Floor Covering is owned by Kelly and Lori Bryan. A request for to redesignate the lot from Urban Corridor with A Avenue Commercial Corridor Overlay to General Commercial District.
The move comes in response to the growing seed business at the location. Bryan initially plans to build the seed storage facility at the location, and potentially a TruBulk seed delivery system that is utilized by Syngenta Seeds.
After discussion as to how the system would operate and would appear, the commission stated they will pass along their recommendation to the Oskaloosa City Council for their consideration.
Also discussed was usage of real estate signage within the city. Five foot from property line and right-of ways was discussed for display among others. No action was taken at this time.
The commission also appointed Charlie Comfort as vice-chair.
