MAHASKA COUNTY –Podiatrist Dr. Alyssa Zacharjasz and Family Practice Physician Dr. Mark Zacharjasz have joined the medical staff at Mahaska Health Partnership early this month.

Our new mission is to ‘enhance the health and well-being of the communities we serve’ and the skills these two physicians bring to our team will allow us to better serve our community with this mission in mind.”
Dr. Alyssa Zacharjasz was drawn to the healthcare field at a young age. After spending most of her teen years volunteering and working at Green County Medical Center, Medicap Pharmacy and McFarland Clinic, Dr. Zacharjasz knew she wanted to dedicate her career to helping patients and caring for families.
An Iowa native, Dr. Alyssa Zacharjasz earned her Doctorate in Podiatry Medicine from Des Moines University and went on to complete her residency in podiatric medicine and surgery at St. Mary’s Medical Center of Evansville, Indiana. Dr. Alyssa Zacharjasz believes in a conservative approach to treatment whenever possible and encourages patient involvement to determine the best plan of care.
“I’m passionate about helping patients return to the lifestyle and activities they enjoy,” said Dr. Zacharjasz. “Working with patients to determine a treatment plan that works for them is one of my favorite aspects of being a physician. I look forward to practicing at MHP and getting to know my patients.”
Originally from Naperville, IL, Dr. Mark Zacharjasz graduated from Saint Louis University School of Medicine and went on to complete his residency in family medicine at Mercy Family Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri.
Dr. Mark Zacharjasz chose a career in family medicine due to his love of helping people and science. To him, medicine is the perfect blend of those two passions. He believes in offering his patients the best possible treatments and advice while upholding their values and autonomy.
“I do my best to understand each patient as a whole through the context of their life,” said Dr. Mark Zacharjasz. “I’m passionate about helping patients and their families through difficult times and providing care for the entire family.”
The newly married couple has moved to Oskaloosa and they look forward to beginning their lives together in the community.
