Pat Baker, 80, of New Sharon passed away at her home Monday morning, April 25, 2016. Patricia Mae Baker, the daughter of Clyde and Macy (Mae) Bunting, was born on March 30, 1936 near Union Mills.

Pat attended McMains Country School near New Sharon before graduating from New Sharon High School in 1954. On March 30, 1956, Pat was united in marriage to Don Baker in New Sharon. To this union two children were born, Shalene and Ed.

Pat worked at the Mahaska Hospital as an operating technician before working at the New Sharon Nursing home as a nursing assistant. Pat was also a typical farmer’s wife; she loved helping Don on the farm. She enjoyed working in the yard, gardening, and her flower bed. She was a very talented musician and could play any instrument she picked up. She was also an animal lover and had a special place in her heart for her dog, Goldie.

Pat was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of the New Sharon Assembly of God Church.

Her memory will be cherished by her husband of 60 years, Don Baker of New Sharon; her children: Shalene (& Mark) Massick of Newton and Ed (& Nancy) Baker of Overland Park, KS; four grandchildren: Stephanie (& Zack) Alexander, Adam (& Casey) Massick, Jacqueline (& Omar) Conrad, and Catherine Harris; four great grandchildren, and one more on the way: Isaac, Ian, Ingrid, and Olivia; and her sister, Virginia Likens of Barnes City.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Robert Bunting.

Funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in New Sharon.
Burial will be held in the Union Mills Cemetery at Union Mills.
Visitation will begin after 12:00 pm Friday, April 29, 2016 at the funeral home with the family present from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Memorial contributions may be made to the New Sharon Fire and Rescue or the Stephens Memorial Animal Shelter.
