Patricia Ann Fox, 88, of Oskaloosa died Saturday, August 11, 2018, at Crystal Heights Care Center in Oskaloosa. She was born September 19, 1929, the daughter of George and Helen De Hoot Fox in Oskaloosa.
Patricia attended school in Oskaloosa. On September 18, 1948, she was united in marriage to Fay Beadle. To this union four children were born, Larry, Robert, John, and Pam.
When her children were young she stayed home to care for them. Later she worked at the Dry Cleaner in Oskaloosa. She worked as a C.N.A. at Tower Park and Crystal Heights Nursing Homes in Oskaloosa for over 19 years. She retired from there in the mid 1990’s. In retirement she continued to care for elderly people in their homes.
Later in life Pat met Al Elder, the two of them enjoyed many years of companionship. She was a fantastic cook and baker. Pat was always willing to help people that were in need, she had a servant heart that was obvious by the care she gave her family and the people she took care of at work. She loved people and delighted in spending time with her family and friends.
Her family includes her three children: Larry (& Melba) Beadle of Oskaloosa, Bob Beadle of Oskaloosa, and Pam (& Delroy) Heidebrink of Sibley, Iowa; three grandchildren: Adam Beadle, Tanya Dykstra, and Nick Heidebrink; four great grandchildren: Tanner Dykstra, Mikya Dykstra, Brody Beadle, and Vanessa Beadle; four step daughters: Verda (& Brandt) Smith of Oskaloosa, Waneta Woods of Atlantic, Lila Elder of Oskaloosa, and Miranda Woods of New Virginia; many step grandchildren; a sister, Inez Long of Pella; a brother, Richard (& Patty) Fox of Oskaloosa; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fay Beadle; a son, John Beadle; companion, Al Elder; and many brothers and sisters.
A memorial service will be held Friday, August 17, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with Pastor Alvern Boetsma officiating.
Burial will be in the Old White Cemetery in Oskaloosa. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will begin Thursday after 10 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel and the family will be at the funeral chapel from 5-7 Thursday evening to greet friends and relatives.
