The Youth Group of the First Christian Reformed Church

The Youth Group of the First Christian Reformed Church is looking forward to a June trip to Joplin, Missouri with World Renew Disaster Response Services to address tornado damage. To help fund their trip they are sponsoring a Pancake Breakfast on Memorial Day, May 26 from 7 to 10 am. The community is invited to enjoy a breakfast of pancakes, sausages, cinnamon rolls, fruit and drink. An opportunity to give a free-will offering for the trip will be presented. First Christian Reformed Church is located at 815 N 11th Street, just south of Forest Cemetery where morning festivities will also be held for the community. Plan now to take in both events.

At the beginning of the school year the Youth Group chose Matthew 5:16 as their Bible verse for the year. “In the same way let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in Heaven.” It is the hope of the group that indeed the people of Joplin may see and feel the love of Jesus. Some students have been a part of such trips in the past, but for others, this will be a new experience. All are looking forward to the trip.

If you have any questions on the Youth Group or the Pancake Breakfast, call the church at 641.673.4272 or email firstcrcosky@mahaska.org.
