Pair of Double-Doubles Lifts Wilson to Weekly Award

Oskaloosa–Marc Wilson (Sr., Los Angeles, Calif., Physical Education) put up big numbers to keep his team’s winning streak intact and his efforts earned him Midwest Collegiate Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honors Monday.

Wilson picked up his first weekly honor by leading William Penn (8-4) to three wins last week. The Statesmen are riding an eight-game winning streak after starting 0-4. He averaged 17.3 points and 9.7 rebounds in addition to ten assists, ten steals, and three blocks. The senior shot 60.7% from the floor (50.0% 3-PT) and was 75.0% from the line.

His week was highlighted by producing a pair of double-doubles, including 15 points and ten rebounds against Simpson and 20 points and 14 rebounds against Crossroads.

For the year, Wilson is averaging team bests in points (16.5) and rebounds (7.3) in addition to 18 assists, a team-hig 15 steals, and seven blocks. He has thus far made 57.0% of his field-goal attempts (44.4% 3-PT) and is 70.8% at the charity stripe.

The award is the second for WPU this year.
