Owl Prowl Rescheduled

Mahaska County Conservation Board

Owl Prowl

Saturday, February 2nd

Eveland Access Campground Parking Lot

7:00 – 8:00 pm

The Mahaska County Conservation Board invites you to come out to the Eveland Access Campgrounds to go on an owl prowl! You will learn a brief overview about owls living in Iowa and their special characteristics as birds of prey. Did you know that you can talk to the owls living in town as well as in the country? It can be done! You will learn how to make various owl calls by the time you go home. Following the short talk, we will call for owls in the woods. Be sure to dress for the weather and bring a flashlight.

This FREE event is for ALL AGES, so bring your family and friends! Please call MCCB by January 31st at (641)673-9327 or respond in the comments on the event on our Facebook page. If weather prevents us from calling owls, notifications will be made on Facebook and the MCCB website.

The Eveland Access Campgrounds is located 4 miles south of Beacon on Highway T39. You will see the campgrounds on the north side of the bridge crossing the Des Moines River. The entrance is on the east side of the road. We will meet at the boat ramp parking lot.
