Ottumwa Man Missing In The Des Moines River

On Monday June 23rd, 2014 @ approximately 7:40 p.m. the Wapello County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call that Michael Todd Chrisman, age 25 of Ottumwa IA had gone into the Des Moines River near the Cliffland Park River Access and had not resurfaced.

Michael Chrisman was at the river with several other individuals that had been jumping into the river from a rope that was attached to a tree.

A search was conducted last night until approximately 9:40 p.m. The search is currently continuing at this time.

The Wapello County Sheriff’s Office is being assisted in this search by Eldon Fire & Rescue, the Ottumwa Fire Department and the Fairfield Fire Department.
