Oskaloosa Up And Coming Art Show

Oskaloosa, Iowa – The Fine Arts and Cultural Events (FACE) board held the first of many events leading up to Art on the Square. The first was started off by some local youth and their creative efforts being displayed at the Iowa Building.

The recently restored historic building is playing host to the ‘Up and Coming Art Show’ as it has in the previous years.

The works of art then move to various businesses during the summer months such as Musco, Bank Iowa and the Oskaloosa Elementary.

About 65 students entered the ‘Up and Coming Art Show’. 20 of those entries were then chosen to be matted and used on the tour of businesses around town, where they  will be displayed for approximately a week.

Students were able to submit the artwork over the past year, with the media being two dimensional forms of artwork.

Join FACE tomorrow night before the City Band Concert and use your thumb print to help make a painting that will depict the city bandstand.
