Oskaloosa Swears In New Fire Chief

Oskaloosa, Iowa – On Monday night, March 7th, the Oskaloosa City Council swore in a new Fire Chief, Scott Vaughan.

Vaughan will begin his duties with the city on March 14th, 2022. He comes to Oskaloosa from Fairfield, Iowa, where he’s served as their Chief since 2012.

Vaughan also served as the code enforcement officer and the rental inspector for the city of Fairfield.

The Council then made a motion to award a contract for the 2022 Sanitary Sewer Project for $959,127.00 to KLC Construction LLC.

The Council also scheduled a public hearing on a proposed amendment to the Fiscal Year 2022 budget and the proposed Fiscal Year 2023 budget.

That hearing is scheduled for March 21st, 2022, at 6 pm at City Hall.

The Council also set March 21st, 2022, at 6 pm for the public hearing for the City of Oskaloosa Capital Improvement Plan for the fiscal years of 2023 through 2027.

“The City of Oskaloosa Capital Improvement Plan, fiscal years 2023 through 2027, was developed according to priorities based upon need, desire, and importance of such improvements to the community within the constraints of the city’s ability to finance as well as implement and administer the projects.”
