Oskaloosa Man Killed In Two-Vehicle Collision

Pleasantville, Iowa – An Oskaloosa man was killed in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 163 and NE 70th in Polk County on Saturday, September 7th.

The accident was reported at 9:13 am on September 7, 2019.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, 50-year-old Lisa Kay Pearson-West was eastbound on Highway 163 and turned northbound onto NE 70th St.

Kevin Deronde was westbound on Highway 163 approaching the intersection. For unknown reason, Pearson-West turned in front of Deronde. Deronde was unable to avoid a collision and struck the Pearson-West vehicle in the passenger side.

Both vehicles left the roadway and entered the northwest ditch. The tractor-trailer driven by Deronde overturned onto the drivers side in the ditch.

Pearson-West was transported via life flight to Methodist Hospital, while the passenger in the tractor-trailer, Linda Jean Deronde was transported by ambulance to Methodist.
