Oskaloosa Library Welcomes New Director
Oskaloosa, Iowa – The Oskaloosa Library welcomed a new director this week.
Nicole Morgan comes to Oskaloosa from the Clive area, where she worked in various positions within their public library over the past 16 years, lastly serving as the library manager.
During the process of looking at Oskaloosa, Nicole decided to do a bit of secret shopping, if you will. She came and visited the library and Oskaloosa to learn more about the library and the town itself. She liked the size of the town, and admits that she wasn’t very good at being an “undercover shopper”.
“I stuck out like a sore thumb,” chucked Nicole. “I fell in love with the library.”
Looking at keeping teens active in the library is something that will be on Nicole’s radar, as the age group is something she feels strongly about. She added that she would like to get to know the community “a little bit more” before making any decisions that may impact programming at the library.
Her first day on the job was Monday, and Nicole says, “It was so welcoming. I felt so welcomed.”
Oskaloosa Library Board President Michael Collins said, “We are excited about the wealth of experience she [Nicole] brings and eagerly look forward to working with her as we continue to maintain premium library services to the community.”
An open house to formally welcome Nicole to Oskaloosa and the library is scheduled for Thursday, January 21st, from 4 to 6 pm.
