Oskaloosa Firefighters Extinguish Garage Fire

This garage located at 1326 Barclay is a total loss, along with the 2 vehicles inside.

Oskaloosa, Iowa – Oskaloosa Firefighters fought a garage fire on the city’s north side in the early morning hours on Thursday. They arrived at the property owned by Matthew Bruxvoort, located at 1326 Barclay. There, firefighters found a detached garage ablaze, with two vehicles inside. Oskaloosa Fire Dept. was on scene for nearly two hours with a dozen firefighters helping to fight the blaze.

A neighboring garage, as well as a home, suffered some damage such as melted vinyl siding because of the close proximity to the fire. Work by fire crews helped to prevent further damage.

Oskaloosa Fire Chief Mark Neff said that the fire remains under investigation at this time.
