Oskaloosa City Band For June 7, 2018

Concertgoers are in for a special treat on Thursday, June 7. The band will be joined by 6 professional string players, including the Lux Quartet, who are in town for the Oskaloosa Music Festival. This annual joint performance has become a favorite of the audience as well as the musicians.

Selections include: The Lord of the Dance, Defying Gravity, Rondeau – Theme from Masterpiece Theatre, Theme from a Summer Place, Rocky Top, Hallelujah, Last Ride of the Pony Express, and Circus Days. Each week the band also recognizes birthdays and anniversaries with a special song. Bubble blowing is encouraged during the final performance each week as the band says Good-Bye.

The string group will be performing in The Alley from 5:30 to 7:30. The joint Winds and Strings concert begins on the square at 8 pm. Follow “Oskaloosa City Band” on Facebook for additional updates and to watch videos of a few selections throughout the summer concert series.
